The NX protocol is compressed X. I was using this, like so:
WinXP on 802.11g ->Corporate network (100/1000Mbps switches) ->
2Mb SDSL ->
PSTN ->
3Mb/384Kb ADSL ->
Debian on 1000Mbps switch It seems to me that my 1400×1050 XDCMP-alike session was actually faster than if I had been running it over an 802.11b network at home. I may have upgraded my home access point too soon… (No, that’s not it.) I got the Windows client here: NOMACHINE
I got the Debian server here:
apt-get install nxserver
