The Headcrab Speaks! — New Video Card

So many of my clanmates are getting new video cards that it renews my interest in frames. Sweet, sweet frames — 10 – 30 per second is no longer enough. I must have more! And more shaders!

So it must be time to move on from my trusty GeForce 4 Ti4600 and get a new card. I was avoiding it, but now is the time to strike. I have a few hundred bucks in consulting fees coming in, and I can get a big discount on video cards.*

I have to take a new tack, though. I can no longer afford to blow $300-500 on a new card every few years… well, I could, but then K would get upset. Therefore, I’m looking at an ATI Radeon 9600XT with 256MB of RAM, which is normally $200, but which I can snag for $160.

Let’s see how it goes.

* Oh, yeah, I should probably mention that from now until January 30, MicroCenter is having a “Build Your Own System” sale, in which all PC components are 20% off. Just thought you’d like to know.

Iowa Hawk…

iPod Shuffle Hack

Since all y’all seem to be so excited about the iPod Shuffle, and several of us already own the iPod, I though I’d share this little hack with you. Now you can have your own iPod Shuffle before your local stores have it!

I love that color

Today’s Achewood really hits home for me. I love that color as much as the cats do.

A Case For Security

Here’s a creepy story about internet-enable surveillance cameras.
