KOTOR II

I did pick up Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords yesterday. Canthros has had tons of problems with the game, but I haven’t had any yet. (I suppose I should knock on wood.)

Well… no technical problems. And no gameplay problems — the game is just as cool and smooth as KOTOR. However, Canthros and I both find the premise to be slightly laughable — or at least, recycled — but if you are playing the RPG genre, and expecting ground-breaking stories from licensed products, you will be oft disappointed.

Verdict (so far): worthwhile, especially with the 25% first-week discount from Fry’s.

Weird Conversations With K

K: “Your hair smells funny.”
Pika: “Hm. I just washed it, and mostly I’ve just been around computers today. Does it smell like computers?”
K: “It smells like metal.”

I just hope it’s the zinc in my shampoo, and that I’m not reliving Superman III.

Everyone Else Is Doing It

I guess I’ll reveal how parochial my life has really been thus far.

Not Good For Anything Else

Imler, K and I think that Marxism is an excellent source of humor. (Others agree, including Canthros, but are not included in this story. Get your own anecdote!) However, I never expect Imler and K to think of the same things as funny, much less at the same time. However, one such conversation actually took place last week. Here is a salient excerpt:

The scene: Pika’s living room.
Pika is on the couch, talking to Imler on a cell phone.
K is trying to pick out a movie to watch.
Pika: (to K) “How about ‘The Avengers’? You haven’t seen that yet.” (to Imler) “I guess it’s kind of camp, but we like to watch camp. That is, I like to watch camp, and I make her watch, too… and she has yet to rise up and overthrow me.” Imler: “Maybe she should seize the means of production.” Pika: (to K) “He says you should seize the means of production.”
K: “Dude. I’m female. I am the means of production.” Imler: “Wait! She is the means of production!”

Imler:“SEIZE HER!”

Creepy! But fun! Yay!

It’s not USB…

I’ve been catching up on imler.dyndns.org, and I noticed that Japan has jumped the shark (link-through).

If this is the case, then I jumped the shark at Christmas. Of course, my squid is analog, but I like to think it’s the retro-est brass squid of them all (even though it’s made of copper). I love it!
